چکیده
disease, either singly or together, seem to provide suitable conditions for rupture. As yet it is impossible to predict which patients with SLE will develop this problem, and still unknown whether a recent exacerbation of SLE disposes tendons to rupture. Patellar tendon rupture is increasingly recognized, with many spontaneous ruptures in patients with SLE reported. Bilateral patellar and simultaneous patellar and quadriceps tendon ruptures have been described. To our knowledge, this is the first case in the literature of a patient with SLE who developed laxity of the patellar tendon and was managed surgically before it went on to rupture. The new surgical technique we described was very successful, and the patient returned to his regular, unrestricted activities.

AORTIC TRANSECTION AND ITS SURGICAL REPAIR: A CASE REPORT FROM IRAN
Aortic transection is a rare but life-threatening complication of blunt chest trauma. Treatment options include open repair, medical management and most recently, endovascular repair. We report a 33 years old male with a traumatic aortic transection following a car accident. Aortic injury and its pseudo-aneurysm were confirmed by Chest CT scan and TEE in the descending thoracic aorta just belo...

We report the case of a 23-year-old woman who died due to endograft stenosis 20 months after thoracic endovascular aortic repair. The patient presented with the pseudocoarctation syndrome. Although angioplasty of stenosis endograft was successfully performed, severe metabolic complications were lethal.
متن کاملThe effectiveness of hybrid treatment for sever multiple trauma: a case of multiple trauma for damage control laparotomy and thoracic endovascular repair
BACKGROUND Time is a crucial factor for the successful early management of the multi-trauma patient. Hybrid operating theaters, which support the integration of surgical treatment and interventional radiology, provide opportunities to reduce the time-to-surgery for life threatening conditions. CASE PRESENTATION We describe the early successful treatment of a 54-year-old male who sustained mul...
متن کاملAcute Traumatic Thoracic Aortic Injury: Considerations and Reflections on the Endovascular Aneurysm Repair.
Traumatic rupture of the thoracic aorta is a life-threatening lesion and it occurs in 10 to 30% of fatalities from blunt thoracic trauma and is the second most common cause of death after head injury. Immediate surgery is often characterized by a high mortality and morbidity rate. Delayed repair of traumatic aortic injuries has significant survival benefits and a much lower mortality rate compa...
متن کاملEndovascular repair of traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the descending thoracic aorta: report of three cases and review of
Abstract Traumatic descending thoracic aorta pseudo aneurysms have been treated traditionally with open surgery in the past, which have had noticeable rates of mortality and morbidity. A safer method of treatment for this disease is made possible with recent progress in endovascular treatment techniques. In this article, we present three cases of Traumatic descending thoracic aorta pseudo aneu...
متن کاملTreatment of co-existing thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms using combined endoluminal stent grafts and conventional surgery.
We report three patients with a descending thoracic aortic aneurysm (DTAA) and a separate infra-renal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) who had initial endovascular repair of the DTAA followed by repair of AAA. Endovascular stent repair of DTAA avoids the significant morbidity associated with thoracotomy and open repair. Hence more patients with multilevel aortic aneurysm may be eligible for surg...
